Contemplation 1. a long and thoughtful observation 2. a calm, lengthy, intent consideration; I believe that art making is contemplation at it's purest form. Artists always slip into these deep states of thought during the process of art making. Even the audience enters into a continuous and ever changing thought processes that may or may not be the same as that of the artist themselves. It is never the same, which is the true beauty of art, and contemplation can be found everywhere. Deeply rooted in Buddhist and other Indian ideas, contemplation is something that has spread throughout, and survived the ages, and exists in this modern time of art, even if people are unaware of the process or not. Art is contemplation.
