World of Whitecraft (2012)

A performance/simulation of the oppressed black body in the anonymous, equalitarian virtual world of Azeroth.

Full Description

Will Neibergall and Manuel Palou (of Art404) created dark-skinned human characters in World of Warcraft (Bladefist realm) and sought to embark on quests and attempt to accomplish various goals without equipping any armor or gear other than weapons. The equalitarian nature of World of Warcraft provides for a great deal of freedom for players, including the freedom to put oneself at a disadvantage as the game requires more strategic engagement as well as to participate in role-playing (usually on designated RP servers) and simulate social and hierarchical positions, including those of oppressed minorities that would not otherwise exist in the community.
