Atlas (Italy), 2014

Mon May 19, 2014 14:30 - Mon Aug 03, 2015

I'm glad to introduce you to Atlas (Italy), a new project of mine that premiered during my solo show at Marsèlleria Permanent Exhibition in Milano some weeks ago.

The printer prints out a sheet of paper every 5 minutes showing 113 dots in correspondence of the bases, military installations and logistic U.S. or NATO / OTAN controlled by the U.S. and in Italy.

The number associated to each dot changes randomly.
The public is invited to take a print and start drawing from dot to dot to obtain a new geographical outline of my country.

Independent Source:

revised (from 113* to 107) in 2008
*in the original list … base and / or military installations or
logistic U.S. and / or NATO / OTAN (under U.S. control) which I published
(113), there are actually ‘some mistakes’. The reason is simple to explain: those “mistakes” were, to me, voluntarily and conspicuously placed, to preserve the anonymity of my initial informant.

Milano, Italy

Dear Friends,

Cari amici,

I'm very happy to invite you to my upcoming solo show taking place at Marsèlleria Permanent Exhibition in Milano.

It opens next Monday April 7
FB event

I'm introducing several new projects and above all a new way to sell video art and new media.
The most part of the pieces (old and new) are hosted in what I call ViBo from Video Book, and it's basically a book or a digipack equipped with a 7" screen.

ViBo is cheap, € 120 for the moment, Unlimited and Unsigned.

I also invited 3 designers and a producer to join me in this adventure that runs through the world famous SALONE DEL MOBILE week.
They are Raw-Edges, Giorgia Zanellato, Ilaria Innocenti and Mirko Rizzi
It means that some of my pieces will be installed ON or NEXT some meaningful and inspiring "piece of design" .

The show is pretty big, it spans all the 3 big floors of the space with nothing at the walls but filled by tables, installations, light, music and video projections.

One of the new pieces Koh-i-N∞r , features an unreleased track by moby from his terrific and visionary mobygratis platform. I had the privilege to obtain a commercial license for it and so it will be sold in one of the ViBos.

I also did a small artist book with a great text by critic and curator Laura Barreca.

I hope you will attend.

Last: I'm pleased to be featured in Born Digital: Benefit Online Auction on Paddle8 to support the activities of the Link Art Center.
You 'll receive a reminder about it later on.

Stay foolish, buy cheap.
