Carlos Teixeira graduated at the Escola de Arquitetura/UFMG, Belo Horizonte, in 1992. Studied at the Architectural Association Graduate School, London, where he received his Master's Degree in 1994 (distinction). In the following year, he opened his own practice, where he works on architectural and urban design, competition entries and narrative strategies. Founded Casa Design Brasileiro with Helena Teixeira Rios in 1998, where they research furniture design with "incompatible" materials. Published the book Under Construction: History of the Void in BH (Cosac & Naify Ed., 1999), a long essay on the potentialities of the unplanned city. Won the "e-2 competition: Defining the Urban Condition" (Paris, 2002) with the entry "Amnesias Topograficas" (see this project at Rhizome), developed together with architect/artist Louise Ganz. In 2004 he represented Brazil at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
