Jim Johnson, a member of the Painting and Drawing faculty of the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Colorado at Boulder since 1970, retired from that position in 2005. He developed the department's Integrated Media and Computer Imaging programs and produced over 60 videotaped interviews with participants in its Visiting Artist Program. His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, N.Y, the Denver Art Museum, the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles, and the Tate Library and Archive, London. An active participant in the creation of the ATLAS Institute, Johnson served as the first Director of its Center for Arts, Media and Performance.
